CLUB POLICIES:
Parent Code Of Conduct Policy
Disruptive behavior from the sidelines by any parent, spectator or participant will not be tolerated at any practice or game. The team coach/coaches have full authority and sole discretion to determine what constitutes disruptive behavior and to take appropriate action to eliminate such behavior. Any instruction to a player (or coach) from the sideline by anyone other than the coach will be considered disruptive behavior. Any behavior that may be deemed to undermine the authority of the coach will be considered disruptive behavior. Presence on the field of play will be considered disruptive behavior. Repeated disruptive behavior by a parent will lead to the dismissal of the related player without refund.
Stingers Soccer Club is sanctioned by the Colorado State Youth Soccer Association who states the following which is applicable to game situations:
”Disruptive behavior from the boundary lines by coaches or spectators is prohibited and will be regarded as ungentlemanly conduct warranting a report of misconduct equivalent to a caution and if continued, a sending off.”
In a game situation, the offending party has 2 minutes to stand 100 yards away from the sidelines or the play may be stopped.
The Stingers Soccer Club applies these policies to practices as well as game situations and extends full authority to the coaches (in a similar manner as to the referees in a game situation) to eliminate any behavior that they determine to be disruptive.
Should a parent or spectator desire to offer suggestion, criticism or advice, they may approach the coach before or after (not during) the scheduled practice or game. No such comment may be made directly to a player (excluding ones own child). All such communications to the players shall come from the coach. Repeated criticism directly to a coach may be considered disruptive behavior. Such concerns should be addressed to the Director of Coaching in writing through the use of the Coach Evaluation form available on the Stingers website.
The coach has the authority and discretion to allow parental or spectator assistance during practice sessions (or games) if they desire such assistance and deem such assistance to be non-disruptive. Such assistance is not a right, but shall be considered a privilege when allowed by the coach. Such privilege may be revoked by the coach at any time, and such privileges may not be extended to all.
Positive encouragement (that is non instructional) from the sidelines during games is encouraged. An example of such encouragement would be: “great pass” or “go Stingers”.
The Board of Stingers Soccer takes the above statements and guidelines very seriously and stands ready to remedy any action that can’t be resolved quickly and without disruption to a teams cohesive nature.
Competitive Playing Time Policy
In keeping with the “Player First” philosophy of our club, it is the policy of Stingers Soccer Club that every competitive player shall be given a reasonable amount of game time during regular season and tournament games. This policy is not intended to bind competitive coaches to providing each and every player with equal playing time. Nor is it intended to require any specific number of minutes per game or percentage of game time for each player. Rather, this policy is intended to encourage competitive coaches: (1) to recognize the fact that players and parents pay their fees and devote their time to a team with the expectation of making a contribution to the team by playing in games and (2) to make every reasonable attempt to see that each player is given the opportunity to make that contribution.
It is further understood that competitive coaches: (1) may have their own team policies regarding allotment of playing time based on additional criteria such as ability, effort, working within the team structure, attendance, and attitude, and (2) must seek a balance between developing each player and finding a way to keep the team as a whole motivated.

Private Motor Vehicle Policy
Private Motor Vehicle Insurance Coverage
Following discussions held at the CYS Annual General Meeting last January, Stingers Soccer Club has taken advice regarding paid coaches driving Stinger Soccer Club players to and from games and practices.
Stingers Soccer Club’s general liability policy does not provide any coverage for these coaches in the event that they are involved in an accident and injury is sustained to the players or other third party members involved in the accident, leaving the possibility of the Stingers Soccer Club being named in any potential lawsuit resulting from the accident.
Therefore, effectively immediately, no paid Stingers Soccer Club coaches are allowed to transport any Stingers Soccer club players with the exception of their own children, to or from any games or practices.

The refund will be made in full minus a $50.00 administration charge.
No refunds will be made after August 1st
For players that are playing Spring only, no refunds will be made after February 1st
If due to other extenuating circumstances a refund is needed please write a letter to the Board of Directors explaining the reasons.
Grievance Policy
Stingers, like all athletic organizations, has a grievance policy in place for its membership.
As a member, if you have any questions or concerns about an issue involving your child on the soccer field, the standard procedure is as follows:
-
If need be, Stingers recommends a 24 hour "cooling off" period before proceeding to the next step A "cooling off" period allows for productive and well timed discussion with team coach.
-
Team coach should be contacted. Coaches are always available to listen to issues. Again, the timing of this discussion is important . . . coaches find it quite difficult to engage in discussion over an issue immediately before or after a game. Discussion tends not to be productive at these times.
-
If a resolution cannot be reached for a Developmental (U5-U8) player or family, the next course of action would be to contact the Developmental Director of Coaching. If a resolution cannot be reached for a U9-U18 player or family, the next course of action would be to contact the Boys Director of Coaching, Kyle Lineberger, or the Girls Director of Coaching, Kate Cortis. As a member, if you have any questions or concerns relating to the Stingers Soccer Club itself, please feel free to contact any of the Directors of Coaching or any Stingers Board of Directors member directly. The Stingers Board and Stingers Staff are always accessible to the membership, and welcome your input.
Please adhere to these steps in order to ensure the best possible resolution for all parties!
